Gandiva Phinisi
The whole hull for your anniversary, priced by the size of the party
Updated 3 November 2026
The Komodo whole boat charter price for Gandiva starts at IDR 80,000,000 (≈ USD 4,908) for one to four guests on 2D1N, and IDR 100,000,000 (≈ USD 6,135) on the 3D2N route. The price rises in three bands, up to twelve guests, and covers the crew, meals and cabins. The guide and the camera are quoted separately.
Three bands, one hull: the charter price for your anniversary
A charter gives you the whole boat: five cabins, three sundecks, the lounge and the deck table, with no other party aboard. The price is for the boat, not the head, and it moves in three bands by party size: one to four guests, five to eight, and nine to twelve.
Contact sheet. On the 2D1N route the bands cost IDR 80,000,000 (≈ USD 4,908), IDR 85,000,000 (≈ USD 5,215) and IDR 90,000,000 (≈ USD 5,521). On the 3D2N route they cost IDR 100,000,000 (≈ USD 6,135), IDR 105,000,000 (≈ USD 6,442) and IDR 110,000,000 (≈ USD 6,748). On the 4D3N route they cost IDR 120,000,000 (≈ USD 7,362), IDR 130,000,000 (≈ USD 7,975) and IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589). Every figure is per trip, in rupiah.
Longer charters of five to eight days are on the same price list, quoted on WhatsApp. Every route starts and ends in Labuan Bajo.
Fares as of 3 November 2026; we confirm your date in writing before payment. The per-person column in the tables divides each band by its largest party (4, 8 or 12 guests), so two guests on the 3D2N route pay IDR 50,000,000 (≈ USD 3,067) each.

Per head, the band prices divided across the party
A band price looks steep until you divide it. Split over the 3D2N route, the bill comes to IDR 25,000,000 (≈ USD 1,534) a head for four, IDR 13,120,000 (≈ USD 805) a head for eight and IDR 9,170,000 (≈ USD 563) a head for twelve. Two guests in the one to four band pay IDR 50,000,000 (≈ USD 3,067) each, which is the figure to set against the open-trip seat.
Read the numbers straight. Up to eight guests, buying seats cabin by cabin costs less than taking the boat. At ten the charter costs about ten percent more than the seats, and at twelve it comes out a little lower. The seats save money and cost you privacy: other parties share the deck. The charter buys privacy and drops the guide and the filming, which the open trip carries.
Money is rarely the whole question. A party of twelve that wants the timetable to itself, and a table with no strangers, gets it for about the cost of the cabins. A couple after the cheapest way into Arjuna should read the comparison page first.

Twelve guests, five cabins, one bed plan
Four of the cabins are doubles for two: Arjuna, Nakula, Sadewa and Bima. The fifth, Yudhistira, has one double bed and two single beds and holds two to four guests. That makes twelve places, and there is no thirteenth; a bigger party needs a second boat.
Three cabins are on the upper deck with sea-view windows. Two are on the lower deck with portholes. Arjuna, on the upper deck, has the private balcony and the bathtub, and on a charter you decide who takes it. Draw lots, or hand it to the couple whose anniversary comes first.
You do not need to fill every cabin. A party of six can use three, and the other two stay closed. The price is the same for one to four guests whether you use one cabin or two, so use the room you want.
Tell us who is sleeping where when you write, and we return a cabin plan in writing, deck by deck.

Charter fare lines, and the ones you add yourself
The charter fare covers the harbour transfer, the full boat, her crew and cruise director, three daily meals, free-flow coffee, tea and mineral water, snacks, fruit, air-conditioned ensuite cabins, towels, life jackets, snorkelling gear and local Wi-Fi.
You add the lines that belong to you: flights, excess baggage, hotels before and after, the park ticket, the national park drone fee, personal expenses, travel insurance, alcoholic drinks and tips for the crew. Scuba divers must hold dive insurance.
Two of those lines catch people out. The park ticket is quoted on its own line, as the park package for your trip type. And a card link adds 3 percent to the payment, PayPal 7.2 percent, and the terminal in Labuan Bajo 3 percent on the departure day.
The band price is one all-in figure, with no separate fuel line or tax line. Nothing else is added unless you ask for it and read the quote.

Guide and camera are extras on a charter
Here the charter and the open trip part ways. On a private charter, no guide comes with the boat. It does not include photo or video documentation either, meaning no camera, no GoPro and no drone footage made for you. The open trip includes both.
You can add them. A guide, or a photographer, is a service on request, quoted separately and in writing before it is added. We print no price for either, since each depends on the days and on who is free.
No photographer comes with the charter. The shot list is yours; so is the camera, unless you add a photographer. If the pictures matter more than the privacy, say so, and we suggest the open trip instead, where the documentation is already in the fare.
On Komodo Island and at the park walks you walk with a ranger, whichever way you travel. That ranger is not a guide for the whole trip.
If Gandiva cannot sail, another boat takes her date
Boats come out of service for repairs, weather and port closures, and an anniversary shouldn't depend on one hull. If Gandiva cannot sail on your date, we provide another boat of the same class or better at no added cost, or refund every rupiah within 2 days (2×24 hours) once the conditions are met.
We write the offer to you before anything changes, with the boat's name and the cabin plan, and you decide. Nothing moves without your written yes.
At sea, things work differently. If the captain delays a stop for wind or tide, or port rules close sailing for a day, we tell you in writing and agree the next step with you under the booking terms. Weather is never guaranteed, and neither are mantas, dragons or sunsets.
The annual maintenance in January and February 2027 is not a surprise cancellation; it is on the calendar already, and we do not sell those dates.
Deposit first, then the date in writing
It takes four steps. You message us with your date, the route and the number of guests. We check the boat and reply in writing with a cabin plan and the price for your band. The 50 percent deposit fixes the date. The remainder is due 30 days ahead of sailing, or you can hand it over in cash or at the card terminal on departure day.
Later changes follow the terms. If you cancel, the refund is 50 percent from 60 days out, 25 percent between 59 and 30 days out, and nothing inside 30 days. Ask for a new date at least a month early and it is free; ask later, at 14 to 29 days, and the charge is IDR 500,000.
Passport or ID details reach us a week before sailing; the park and the harbour want them. Children under three travel free; from age 3 the adult fare applies.
The booking sits with PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, a registered company in Labuan Bajo, NIB 1805260128363. WhatsApp is the quickest first step; a reply with a date and a price beats a form.

FAQ
What does a charter fare cover, and what does it leave out?
It pays for the harbour transfer, the crew and cruise director, three meals daily, hot drinks and water, air-conditioned ensuite cabins, towels, life jackets and snorkelling gear. Not in it: a guide, photo and video documentation, the park ticket, flights, hotel nights, alcoholic drinks and tips.
What happens if Gandiva is replaced or cancelled on my date?
We provide another boat of the same class or better, at no added cost, or you take your money back within 2 days (2×24 hours) once the conditions are met. We write the offer to you before anything changes, and you decide.
Is a charter private, and how many guests can come?
Yes. Nobody else sails: up to 12 guests of your own across 5 cabins, looked after by a crew of 6 and a cruise director, and no other party on deck at any point. A party of thirteen or more needs a second boat.
Is the charter price one figure, with no fuel or tax on top?
Yes. The band price is one all-in figure per trip, with no separate fuel or tax line. The park ticket and the payment fee sit on their own lines, and each extra service gets a written quote ahead of being added.
Which extras are never part of the charter fare?
The guide, photo and video documentation, park tickets, the national park drone fee, flights, hotels, alcoholic drinks, tips and insurance. Cake, flowers, decoration, a beach dinner and a photographer are services on request, never included and never free.
Can I book a Komodo trip for 2027 already?
Yes. 2027 prices are the ones on this page, and open trips sail on Mondays and Fridays from March. January and February 2027 are annual maintenance, so there are no trips in those two months. We confirm your cabin and date in writing before you pay.
