Gandiva Phinisi
Three or four couples, each with a date to mark and a door of their own
Updated 3 November 2026
A Komodo private boat for 3 couples celebrating an anniversary together is the whole of Gandiva: IDR 105,000,000 (≈ USD 6,442) for five to eight guests, 3D2N, which is IDR 17,500,000 (≈ USD 1,074) a head for six. Or take three upper-deck cabins on an open sailing, seats from IDR 10,000,000 (≈ USD 613) each.
Four couples, one boat, one anniversary each
Four couples fill the four double cabins: Arjuna, Nakula and Sadewa on the upper deck, Bima below. That is eight guests, each couple behind a door of their own, with a private bathroom and a cooling unit, so nobody waits in line for a shower. No couple shares a bed or a bathroom with another.
Yudhistira, the fifth cabin, has one double bed and two single beds and takes two to four guests. A fifth couple can sleep there, which brings the party to ten. Put four guests there and the boat holds twelve. That is the limit; thirteen would need a second boat.
Each couple has its own anniversary, or the party has one big one. Give every date a frame on the timetable: the sunset at Kalong for one couple, Padar at first light for another, the dinner on deck for a third, the last swim at Kanawa for the fourth. It costs nothing, and it heads off most arguments.

Who takes Arjuna: a draw, a turn, or the couple with the date
There is one Arjuna, with its balcony and freestanding bathtub, and four couples. Three ways to settle it.
A draw is the cleanest: names in a hat before anyone books, so the result is nobody's fault. A turn is fairer to a long marriage: ask us whether the room can pass from one couple to the next after the first night, and our written answer comes before any payment. The couple with the date is the simplest of all, if the dates differ by months.
Whichever way, decide before the deposit. On the open trip Arjuna goes first, so the debate has a deadline. Bima, on the lower deck, is not a sea-view room, and the couple who take it should hear that from you before they hear it from us. Nakula and Sadewa are sea-view doubles without the balcony or the tub.
A single timetable pinned up for all four couples
One timetable for every couple, printed once. We write it as a single page, and you pin it where everyone passes. The route is the 3D2N. Day one covers Kelor, then the Manjarite reef, then Kalong. Day two runs through Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo, then the sandbar and the drift snorkel. Day three is Sebayur and Kanawa. The captain sets the sequence by wind, tide and park rules. Print the three-day itinerary page and pin that table up.
Spell out the early start on the page. Padar is a climb of between 25 and 45 minutes over loose, steep ground, with the start about an hour ahead of sunrise. Some couples will want it; some will want the cabin. The deck is long enough for both, and the ones who stay can watch the light from the sundeck.
Evenings drift towards the lounge. It has a bar, sofas and a 65-inch screen with karaoke, and the screen and the karaoke run only when the guests on board want them. Dinner is at the deck table, with sofa benches under a shade roof.
Splitting the invoice between couples
Take six guests. A private charter for six guests, 3D2N, costs IDR 105,000,000 (≈ USD 6,442) for the whole boat, which is IDR 17,500,000 (≈ USD 1,074) a head. Each couple pays twice that figure. With four couples, eight guests share the same band and the head figure falls to IDR 13,120,000 (≈ USD 805).
How you split it is between you; we price the boat once. Tell us the split you want and we say in writing what the payment setup allows: half up front (50 percent) to hold the date, the balance 30 days before sailing, through a card link, PayPal, Wise, Revolut, QRIS or an IDR bank transfer. A card link adds 3 percent and PayPal 7.2 percent.
The park ticket is a separate line per guest, and so are flights, alcoholic drinks and tips. Neither a guide nor photo coverage sits inside a private fare; each is priced on request.

Open-trip cabins or a private charter for six
Three couples can instead buy cabins and share the boat. Arjuna, Nakula and Sadewa are the three upper-deck cabins: 2 x IDR 11,500,000 (≈ USD 706), 2 x IDR 10,000,000 (≈ USD 613) and 2 x IDR 10,000,000 (≈ USD 613). The open trip sails on Mondays and Fridays, 3D2N, with the guide and documentation in the fare.
Beside it, the whole boat for the same six is IDR 105,000,000 (≈ USD 6,442). Add the three seat lines and set the sum against the band price: up to eight guests the seats cost less than the boat. What you buy with the difference is the deck to yourselves, any free date and a captain who plans around one party.
On the open trip, privacy is what goes. Bima and Yudhistira belong to other parties, and the tables are shared. Work out which matters more before you send a date.

Confirming the head count
The price band changes at the fifth guest and again at the ninth. At four guests it is IDR 100,000,000 (≈ USD 6,135); at five to eight, IDR 105,000,000 (≈ USD 6,442); at nine to twelve, IDR 110,000,000 (≈ USD 6,748). A couple that drops out can move you down a band, and a fifth couple that joins moves you up. Tell us the head count as soon as it is firm.
We confirm the head count in writing. A week before sailing we ask for each guest's passport or ID details. Rescheduling is free 30 days ahead or more, and the replacement-boat guarantee applies if Gandiva cannot sail on your date. January and February 2027 are maintenance.

FAQ
Can each couple pay for its own cabin on a private charter?
Charter prices belong to the boat and its band, so we write a single quote. Tell us how you want to divide payment, and we say in writing what the setup allows.
Do three couples need the whole boat, or can we book three cabins?
Both work. Three cabins on an open sailing cost 2 x IDR 11,500,000 (≈ USD 706), 2 x IDR 10,000,000 (≈ USD 613) and 2 x IDR 10,000,000 (≈ USD 613). The whole boat is IDR 105,000,000 (≈ USD 6,442) for five to eight guests.
Can a fifth couple join four others?
Yes, in Yudhistira, which has one double bed and two single beds. Ten guests fall in the nine-to-twelve band, IDR 110,000,000 (≈ USD 6,748) for 3D2N. Twelve guests is the ceiling.
